WHAT PLACE DOES ACAI HAVE IN BRAZIL?
At Nossa!, we like to call acai “Brazil’s purple gold.” This expression highlights the distinctive qualities of this small purple berry. It also echoes acai’s Brazilian nickname, underscoring its natural, culinary, and economic importance.
Indeed, acai is a berry that grows at the top of palm trees in the Amazon rainforest. It is renowned for its nutritional benefits, which have made it a leading superfruit in today’s healthy-eating trend.
But acai is also a central part of the diet of Amazonian inhabitants, particularly among foraging communities. They consume it daily. In Brazil, acai is consumed by these communities mixed with cassava to accompany fish. It is also found on Brazilian beaches, where athletes enjoy it in the form of refreshing and invigorating acai bowls.
It is therefore an essential ingredient in Brazil. Today, it is making its mark worldwide thanks to its flavor combining red berries and cocoa, as well as its many benefits.
THE BENEFITS OF ACAI IN A LIMONADA
Acai is rich in minerals, fiber, omega-6 and omega-9, and antioxidants. Here's why you should add it to your limonada:
- Improved digestion: Acai aids and slows digestion thanks to its high fiber content.
- Enhanced immunity, thanks to its concentration of antioxidants and vitamins.
- Lasting energy: Acai provides steady energy. Perfect for avoiding energy slumps between meals.
Acai provides a healthy, lasting source of energy that pairs perfectly with the benefits of lime.
The latter, rich in vitamin C, boosts acai's antioxidant capacity and helps you maintain beautiful, youthful skin. Thanks to its citric acid content, it also aids digestion and the elimination of toxins.
Lime complements acai's mineral intake, helping with better muscle recovery after exercise.
