On Brazilian beaches, such as those in Rio de Janeiro, the açaí bowl is a must-try. It’s a refreshing and nutritious treat. Depending on the region, it’s served plain, simply blended with banana, or in a more indulgent version with condensed milk, granola, fresh fruit, and a variety of toppings.
We wanted to offer you an authentic homemade version that’s easy to make but stays true to Brazilian flavors. The star ingredient? Paçoca, a traditional sweet peanut treat that adds an irresistibly indulgent touch to your acai bowl.
This recipe is also rich in fiber, antioxidants, and healthy fats—perfect for starting your day off right and keeping you full until lunch without getting hungry.

Our tips
Customization based on your preferences and nutritional needs:
- For a protein-packed bowl: add yogurt, cottage cheese, or a scoop of plant-based protein for a post-workout snack or a hearty breakfast.
- For a tropical twist: add mango, kiwi, passion fruit, or shredded coconut.
- For a richer Brazilian twist: drizzle some sweetened condensed milk on top, just like the bowls sold on the beaches of Rio.
You can even turn your açaí bowl into a smoothie: just blend the banana, açaí, and yogurt in a blender. It’s a quick, easy-to-take-along option that you can easily prepare the night before. Check out the original açaí smoothie recipe.
