Acai Cheesecake Cup

Acai cheesecake in a glass

At Nossa!, we love recipes that look impressive without requiring much effort. Because we know that between work, socializing, and everyday life, you don’t always want to spend hours in the kitchen making a dessert.

That’s where our acai cheesecake verrine recipe comes in. It’s a super-simple, no-bake recipe that’s ready in just a few minutes and has that special something that keeps everyone coming back for more. The whole Nossa! team gave it a thumbs-up!

And that little something, as you might have guessed, is acai. This fruit comes straight from the Amazon, and we process it with care to bring you an organic, fair-trade puree—with no added sugar—that’s rich in antioxidants and boasts that intense purple color that makes any dessert irresistible.

The simplicity and speed of the jar format

The ramekin format changes everything. No need to worry about getting the cake to set perfectly, and no need to spend hours watching it bake in the oven. Here, we assemble, plate, and enjoy our dessert. It’s a simplified version of cheesecake, but one that retains all its charm and indulgent flavor.

And the layered design instantly creates a “wow” effect on the table. A biscuit base at the bottom, a rich acai cream, then another layer of biscuit, and a finishing touch of red berries. Easy, quick, but it never fails to impress.

What kind of cookie should I use for the cheesecake crust?

This is a question people often ask when it comes to using cookies in a cheesecake recipe.

The truth? Any kind of cookie will do. Speculoos, Petit Beurre, Breton galettes, shortbread, etc. You can even mix different types of cookies to vary the flavors and textures.

And since we’re talking about a version served in a glass here, you have even more freedom. The crust doesn’t need to be perfectly firm like it does for a classic cheesecake.

You can add a few pieces of brownie, some leftover cake, or even granola. The important thing is to choose something you like that goes well with the acai cream.

What is the best cheese for a cheesecake?

For a creamy, velvety cheesecake, cream cheese like Philadelphia is a must. It has a firm yet melt-in-your-mouth texture and a mild flavor that lets the acai really shine.

But you can also use mascarpone if you want an even richer result, or a mixture of cream cheese and Greek yogurt for a lighter version.

And if you want to make a vegan cheesecake, it’s totally possible. You can use a plant-based cream cheese (made from cashews or coconut), which is easy to find in organic stores.

You can also make your own creamy base using cashews that have been soaked and blended with a little plant-based milk and agave syrup. Acai pairs perfectly with these alternatives and retains all its flavor, no matter which version you choose.

The ingredients we used

To create our version, we'll start with:

  • 250 ml of heavy cream, whipped
  • 200 g cream cheese (such as Philadelphia), at room temperature
  • 100 g of Nossa! açaí puree
  • 60 g powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of solid coconut oil
  • 120 g of cookies (speculoos, petit beurre, shortbread, etc.)

And as a topping: a few berries, especially raspberries for a little zing!

How to Make Your Acai Cheesecake in a Glass

Start by crumbling the cookies of your choice.

Next, prepare the cream: in a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, whipped cream, powdered sugar, lemon juice, milk, and acai purée. The goal is to achieve a smooth, slightly fluffy texture that will give the dessert its rich, creamy flavor.

To assemble, layer the ingredients alternately: a layer of sponge cake, a layer of acai cream, another layer of sponge cake, and then another layer of cream. Finish with a few berries for a fresh touch.

Chilling it in the refrigerator for at least two hours allows the flavors to blend well and the cream to set just right.

Why we love this recipe

Because it’s quick to prepare, endlessly adaptable, and doesn’t require much effort. It’s the kind of recipe you can whip up on a busy evening when you get home, or prepare in advance for a dinner with loved ones.

And besides, acai isn’t just an ingredient. It’s a direct link to the Amazon, to the families who harvest it by hand, and to a tradition passed down through generations. Nossa! acai is part of a value chain that we’re committed to highlighting.

So, no matter what your dietary preferences are, give this dessert cup a try. You'll see: it checks all the boxes for the perfect dessert.
